Mission & Goals

Mission Statement

Lawton Chiles High School is building a tradition of excellence by providing the best learning environment where students are challenged to be active learners, leaders, achievers and contributors within a global community.

Three Year Goals for Lawton Chiles High School:

Over the next three years, we would like to maintain our grade status in the state accountability system while adjusting to state common core standards. In maintaining, reforming and excelling as a school, over that time we will need to continue developing programs to help our bottom 25% achievement level students. In addition, we will continue to develop alternative programs for our at-risk students to increase our graduation rate. We will also need to look for ways to promote and encourage Advanced Placement participation from underrepresented populations while incorporating business and industry certifications that produce ready-to-work students. This is further supported by a prudent increase of our technology to one-to-one capabilities. Lastly, the faculty and staffs at our feeder schools deserve great praise for the preparation and nurturing of these students as we take them to greater heights in post-secondary opportunities. These faculty and staffs come from the following schools: DeSoto Trail, Gilchrist, Hawks Rise, Killearn Lakes, Roberts Elementary Schools along with Deerlake and Montford Middle Schools and bolster our K-12 relationships from our feeder schools to ensure parents that students will have the best opportunities to be successful in life
